saturday evening post

It's Saturday afternoon and we've been outside most of the morning. If you've ever wondered what we do with our Saturdays, today has been pretty typical of late. It's hard to imagine but our apartment is on a road that is somewhat steep. As you come down our one-way street, our apartment is on the left and our garage is the first thing. Because it's on a hill, you first pull into our garage and then you walk up a few steps and your in our laundry room. There's also a long stretch of area behind the building that belongs to us as well. The kids like to ride their tricyles back there and there's a sandbox at the end. The owners before us or maybe the builders took the space above our garage and made a small outside area. It has a wading pool and a barbecue pit. One side of the area is lined with plants and stuff and we put up a fake bamboo fence behind it. So today we spent a few hours out there playing in the pool with the boys and trying to get a tan. You've never felt so white until you move to Brazil! Sometimes I'll cook some meat and we'll eat out there on our "porch". It's always fun and we don't feel like we're in the middle of tall buildings and 3+ million people... until we look up. We are surrounded by tall apartment buildings!
